Pricing and Plans
How do I know which pricing plan is right for my business? We'll walk you through the services we provide and help you determine which one is the best for you. Our services are custom tailored to your unique situation.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription? We use QuickBooks online, which means you own your data and can retain access with QuickBooks online. You can cancel your account with QuickBooks anytime you like.
Can I change my subscription plan? Definitely. Each package we offer is fully customizable to your business and is adaptable as your business needs change.
Am I locked into a long-term subscription? Nope. Our packages are on a month to month basis. You are completely in-charge.
Do you guarantee your work? Yep. We guarantee if you are ever unhappy with the quality of our work you can decide how much to pay us for any uncompleted work and this will be accepted without quibble.
Bookkeeping and Accounting
How does bookkeeping help my business? Our bookkeeping is designed to give you a complete picture of where your money is coming and going. Having an accurate view of your business’s finances will allow you to make smarter financial decisions. Also, having complete set of books helps to make sure you only pay tax on actual income received and take deductions for all expenses.
What does my bookkeeper do? Your bookkeeper will reconcile your accounts and record your transactions. Your bookkeeper will also work with you on things like where to categorize a transaction, but we try our best to make bookkeeping as hands-off as possible for you. Also, you can contact your bookkeeper whenever you’d like without charge.
How long does it take to do my bookkeeping each month and when can I expect it to be completed? Once we receive your documents, we will have your books complete within 15 business days. Normally, we get this done earlier than 15 business days. Also, we work with you to obtain read only access to common items such as bank and credit card accounts, which allow us to obtain most if not all of your information needed to close your books without having to bug you. Our software system automatically syncs with most financial tools such as bank, credit cards and outside processing companies such as Stripe
What if I'm behind on my books? No problem! You can add on our bookkeeping cleanup plan to get your books up to date no matter how far behind you are. Typically, we can get your books up to date once all data is received within 1-2 months if not sooner.
What is the difference between bookkeeping and accounting? Bookkeeping focuses on the recording daily transactions like posting transactions, recording the general ledger activity, and completing payroll. Accounting focuses on the adjustments typically required to prepare an accurate set of financial statements. Also, your accountant will make sure your books are tax-compliant. Your accountant is a licensed CPA who will make sure you receive an accurate set of financial statements in a format that helps you make proper financial decisions. Think of your CPA as a CFO that you'll have access to and who watches over the work performed on your account.
Do you support both cash and accrual accounting? Yep! If you are confused on what mean by cash and accrual accounting, check out a video we did on this here: Cash or Accrual Basis - What you Need to Know. We'll help you decide which is best for your company including possibly doing a blend of cash and accrual accounting. Our goal is to provide you with accurate financial information in the right format for your business so you can see how the business is doing towards achieving your goals
Do you provide invoice, bill payment, payroll, sales tax, fixed asset or inventory management? We sure do! Think of us as your full on-demand finance department that will seem like we're down the hall from you!
Do you sync with other industry support software? Yes! QuickBooks online syncs with several industry software solutions which we can setup for your business.
I already have an in-house bookkeeper and just need someone to check the work. Do you do this? We do! We have clients for which we come in at month end for which we review the work the in-house bookkeeper has done and close the books including providing financial reports for the month. We also work with your in-house bookkeeper to provide training and answer any questions they may have.
What does a profitability coach do? Your profitability coach is a Financial expert CPA/CFO that watches over your business, provides finance recommendations, including tax strategies, and is there to support you and act as a sounding board. Profitability is not just limited to your financials, but also includes wealth generation such as retirement strategies, acquisitions, and exit planning. First, we'll help you with preparing your vision to plan for what you want out of your business and goals on how best to achieve this. Then, your profitability coach works with you to design and prepare key reports and dashboards that will be used to monitor your plan & stay on track with your goals. You'll also periodically meet with your profitability coach to review your results, make adjustments, and ensure you're on track. Of course, you can contact your coach at any time.
Tax
Do you file my taxes? Yep. All our plans provide you with tax filings for your business and personal returns although some of our clients use their own tax accountant. Once your books are complete for the year, your dedicated tax preparer, who is a CPA, will work on your return. When your return draft is complete, they'll reach out to you for review before filing your taxes. Also, if we ever do make a mistake preparing your tax return (it happens sometimes … hey — we’re human, too) don’t worry — we always stand behind our work so we will pay any penalties on our mistake.
Are Advantage professionals licensed? For sure. Your tax preparer will be registered with the IRS and your return is reviewed by a licensed CPA.
Do you help with quarterly amounts to pay for estimated taxes. Absolutely. We will calculate what you should pay for estimated taxes and send this to you. We also will remind you of when your estimated taxes need to be paid. Also, depending on your package, will review throughout the year for any adjustments to amounts to pay for estimated tax.
What kind of questions can I ask my tax team? Anything, including what if scenarios like can I deduct xyz, what would your recommend, can I write off my office, etc.
What the heck is advanced tax planning? Advance tax planning will provide you with a more thorough review of your tax situation and provide you with tax strategies that can further reduce your tax liability. You'll get a detailed plan of what specifically you can do to reduce your taxes. This plan is updated throughout the year and reviewed with you during the year. Our clients typically save at least $10,000 in taxes over a 5 year period of time.
About Advantage
Do I work with the same team each month? Yes. Your team will consist of at least one bookkeeper and one CPA who you'll have unlimited access to during the year. As long as those team members remain with Advantage, your team will not change. If there is any change in your team, we'll let you know as soon as possible and make sure the transition is as smooth as possible.
Where is your team located? Our team is located in the United States mainly in California.
Are my books reviewed by a CPA? Yep! As mentioned above, you'll have a CPA on your team.
How long have you been in business? We've been in business since 2015 and our owner has been a CPA for over 25 years including work with a Big 4 CPA firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
How many clients do you have? Currently, we serve over 20 businesses and over 30 individuals. We try to keep our client count low to we can 1) serve the right clients and 2) provide our clients with the time and attention they deserve.
How fast does Advantage respond to my requests? We strive to respond within 24hrs but generally respond sooner than that.
How do I signup? Just schedule a call with us and we'll walk you through the process, get to know you and your business and provide you with a fixed fee monthly quote.
What is the process for becoming a client? What we do is first get to understand your company, size, transactions, goals and wants from your accountant. We do this through a series of questions that we'll schedule with you via a Zoom call. Then, we put together some pricing options and present this to you for review and explanation. Once you've selected a plan, we then begin the process of onboarding your company. Our onboarding process involves obtaining information we need about your business and existing records, including access to QuickBooks if applicable, and we request read only access to accounts. Then, we begin to work. The process is easy, secure and is typically done within 1-2 weeks.
